Production Assistant: Dresser

Job description:
– Maintaining and cleaning all costumes and/or wigs for all shows assigned
– Including preset & quick changes necessary for the production
– Identify costumes that need to be repaired prior to & immediately following each rehearsal day, tech & performance
– Must have skills to fix small repairs using hand sewing techniques
– Might have to take on other Production Assistant duties during the run of a show like moving scenery, furniture, props, etc.
– Seasonal position, as needed for any of the six shows during September 2017 – June 2018
– Maintain the integrity of backstage & the dressing rooms during production
– Report any major costume repairs to the Stage Manager & Shop Manager immediately

– At least 2 years experience running wardrobe for a professional theatre
– Ensuring that all Actors’ Equity rules pertaining to costumes are followed
– Knowledge of proper washing instructions
– Must possess sufficient strength and stamina to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
– Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting, bending, climbing, standing and sitting for long periods of time, and/or walking.
– Ability to interact effectively and professionally with staff, management, and artists.
– Strong organizational skills & attention to detail

-August 29, 2017: First Rehearsal/ Read Thru / Meet & Greet
-September 16- September 22= TECH WEEK.
-September 23-September 28= Preview Week
-September 29- October 15= Performances

Show #4:

-February 6, 2018: First Rehearsal/ Read Thru / Meet & Greet
-February 27- March 2= TECH WEEK.
-March 3- March 8= Preview Week
-March 9- March 25= Performances


-April 17, 2018: First Rehearsal/ Read Thru / Meet & Greet
-May 8- May 11= TECH WEEK
-May 12- May 17= Preview Week
-May 18- June 3= Performances
